Sustainable Medical Education for Professionals (MeduProf-S) is an independent Healthcare Education Company providing high quality, professionally presented, custom designed courses.
Following a request from the Board of Management of Fontys University of Applied Sciences to begin a procedure to become a private company MeduProf-S was launched in May 2009. MeduProf-S continues to be empowered by Fontys University of Applied Sciences in its acquisition and implementation of complex international healthcare projects. The focus will remain predominantly on emerging countries and countries in transition.
From an historical perspective the first courses were presented in 1996 when the University Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy and Fontys International Health Projects developed ultrasound courses for emerging countries. Following a successful pilot project in Kenya, the rapid growth of this activity clearly demonstrated the need for similar projects. Courses in diagnostic radiography and ultrasound have since been implemented countrywide in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia on a sustainable basis with close involvement of local expertise and resources. In most countries the courses are part of a package which also includes curriculum development, teacher training and e-learning.
An efficient, effective and experienced international project management team with a strong emphasis on the different regional and national situations guarantees the successful transfer of educational and training knowledge.
Excellent working relationships with partners in beneficiary countries have been established as we have proven our efficiency and reliability.
Since 2007 the capacity of the healthcare team of MeduProf-S has greatly increased to enable us to offer a wider variety of health related courses including Nursing, Physiotherapy, Hospital Waste Management, Hospital Management and Biomedical Engineering. This expansion allows MeduProf-S to provide customised, tailor-made courses to suit the specific needs of our customers.
